The Chocolate Factory was built in Dublin City Centre in 1908. The building shows signs of heavy weather damage due to the fact it gets little sunlight. This inspired me to research ways of incorporating the concept of the sun, and nature in general, into my design. The final design results in a building where each floor represents a time of day. The basement represents a dark night just before sunrise. The floors work through different times of day until the third floor, sunset. The layout was designed to aid employees with the work/life transition, as well as offering a variety of amenities to suit a variety of needs.
